NARAIL, Jan 31, 2023 (BSS) - Police arrested 11 leaders and workers of Jamaat-e-Islami from a house in Bijaypur area of Narail municipality last night in a sabotage case.

The arrested were identified as Hasmat Fakir,42, A. Hannan,52, Omar Farooq Mollah,53, Ali Azam Sheikh,48, Arman Hussain,37, Hem Hemayetul Haque alias Himu Mallik,55, Farhad Hossain,42, Md. Mannan,52, Moshiur Rahman,41, Rahmat Ullah,32, and Jalal Uddin,56. All are residents of the area, police said.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Mahmudur Rahman said, being informed, police conducted a drive at the house of Hasmat Fakir in Bijaypur area of Narail municipality and arrested them during a secret meeting around 11 pm last night.

There is a sabotage case against them in Sadar police station, the OC said.

The arrested were sent to Jail through the court and they were involved in anti-state activities, the OC added.
