Making bull-fattening activity successful underscored in workshop

GAIBANDHA, JAN 25, 2023 (BSS)-Speakers at a function today underscored the need for making the bull fattening activity successful to meet the demand of nutrition in the country.

“In this regard, the local service providers of the livestock department can play vital role in attaining the cherished goal through providing their services to the persons who are involved in the activity”.

They made the comments while addressing a workshop for the local service providers (livestock) at a local hotel at Radhakrishnapur, an outskirt of the district town, this noon.

Non-government organization, M4C-SKS, arranged the workshop under making market works for the Jamuna, Padma and Teesta Chars (m4c) project funded by Embassy of Switzerland and the government of Bangladesh.

District Livestock Officer Dr. Masudur Rahman formally inaugurated the workshop as chief guest.

Later, Intervention specialist of M4C-SKS Foundation Hafizur Rahman Sheikh briefed the participants about the objectives and purposes of the workshop and Senior Intervention Officer Chandranath Gupta discussed overall activities of the project elaborately.

The objective of the workshop was to develop the relationship among the contracted bull fattening farmers, the men of agro vet companies, staff of micro-finance institutes and the field level employees of the livestock department so that bull fattening activity could be successful.

Then the local service providers (livestock) were imparted training aimed at building their capacity.

 A number of officials working in various agro vet companies conducted the training sessions as the resource persons.

A total of 40 local service providers (livestock) who work in project command areas of the district participated in the workshop.
