Stocks maintain gaining streak

DHAKA, Nov 30, 2022 (BSS) - Country's both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), today also witnessed an upward trend like earlier as investors continued their buying spree on large-cap issues amid optimism.

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 23.49 points or 0.38 per cent to settle at 6,235.95. The DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 13.65 points to finish at 2,214.33 and 10.75 points closing at 1,370.18.

Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 4493.67 million on the country's premier bourse which was Taka 3340.37 million at the previous session of the week.

Out of 309 issues traded, 51 closed green, 31 in the red and 227 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

Monno Ceramic was the day's best performer, posting a gain of 7.96 per cent while ORIONINFU was the worst loser, losing 7.49 percent.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended higher with the CSE All Share Price Index - CASPI -advancing 89.60 points to settle at 18,408.51 and the Selective Categories Index - CSCX gaining 54.13 points to close at 11,029.24.

Of the issues traded, 38 advanced, 12 declined and 102 remained unchanged on the CSE.

The port city's bourse traded 35.12 lakh shares and mutual fund units with a turnover value of Taka 6.92 crore.
