DHAKA, Oct 7, 2021 (BSS) - Nagad, the mobile financial service of

Bangladesh Post Office, and Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) have joined hands
for its most prestigious event of the year "Nagad-DRU Best Reporting Award
2021".

  The announcement of the collaboration between Nagad and DRU came at a press
conference today at the DRU's Sagar-Runi auditorium here.

  This year, some 22 best reporters in two segments -- print as well as
online and television plus radio -- will be awarded. Country's 10 veteran
editors will select the best reports after scrutiny.

  At the end of the current month, the awards will be handed over to the
winners at a function, said a press release. The members of the organization
can submit their reports published or broadcast from October 1, 2020 to
September 30, 2021 for the award nomination.

  The report submission deadline is 8:00 pm on October 8 while the timeframe
will not be extended anymore, said Mosiur Rahaman Khan, general secretary of
DRU, while giving details about the event during the press conference.

   Nagad Executive Director Niaz Morshed Elite also elaborated on the
inclusion of Nagad in the event. DRU President Mursalin Nomani, convener of
"Nagad-DRU Best Reporting Award 2021" Mynul Hasan Sohel and other leaders of
the organisation were present on the occasion.

  About the award, Elite said, "Collaborating with DRU to select the best
reports of the year was a big opportunity for us. We didn't want to let it
go. We are always in favor of responsible and pro-people journalism. Such a
stance will stay in the future. We hope that this effort of Nagad will play a
role in the development of journalism in the country."

  Meanwhile, the President and General Secretary of DRU today also
inaugurated the organisation's annual fees payment procedure by depositing
their fees through Nagad.
