Amu for strengthening hands of Sheikh Hasina for development

DHAKA, Dec 11, 2017 (BSS) – Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu today urged the people of the country to strengthen the hands of Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take forward the ongoing development works of the present government.

“If we observe the present development scenario of the country, almighty Allah has kept alive the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for making Bangladesh as a developed country,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on “Victory Day-2017” at the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) in the city, said a press release.

Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan attended the discussion as the special guest while Industries Secretary Mohammad Abdullah presided over the programme.

Amu said the economy of Bangladesh is going forward under the leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the country has already turned into a lower middle income country by achieving over 7 percent GDP.

“Bangladesh and India have inked land boundary agreement under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he added.

Shajahan Khan said Bangladesh has achieved remarkable successes in per capita income, electricity generation and food sufficiency during the last nine years.

“Per capita income has been increased to US$1610 from $529 and power generation has been risen to 16,000 megawatt from 3700 megawatt,” he added.

Among others, Managing Director of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Foundation M Shafiqul Islam and Director General of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI) Sardar Abul Kalam were present at the discussion.
