Work for the country’s welfare: President
MITHAMAIN, Kishoreganj, Sept 26, 2018 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid
today urged countrymen to work for the welfare of the country and its people.
“Work for the welfare of the country and its people. You all should put
relentless effort on materialising the dream of development,” he told a
meeting at Mithamain in Kishoreganj.
Mithamain Upazila Parishad hosted a reception for the President on
Muktojouddha Abdul Haque Government College premises as Abdul Hamid reelected
the country’s President for the second consecutive term on April last.
Referring to his long political career, President Hamid said all should
work together for the future development, adding there must have sincere
efforts on realistic development issues.
“I am a son of a farmer…being the President even, I never forgot my
childhood memories. A man cannot be a real one if he forgets his roots,” the
President said in an emotion-chocked voice.
“I’m President Hamid…you (people) elected me as parliament member for
eighth times earlier. I am trying my level best to ensure the development of
haor region as well of the whole country.”
Referring to the upcoming general election, the President called upon
voters to choose such a party which will work for people’s welfare once it
goes to state power.
“Don’t vote them who do politics for their personal interest,” he said.
He reiterated his request to all the country’s political parties to
nominate efficient and honest candidates in all elections, including Jatiya
Sangsad and local government polls. “All people of Bangladesh will have to
think of it (candidates.”
Abdul Hamid also urged the voters not to elect such candidates who give
priority to their own interest and deceive people.
