Dhaka cleanliness campaign sets new Guinness world record

DHAKA, Sept 24, 2018 (BSS) – Cleanliness campaign of Dhaka South City
Corporation (DSCC) has been selected as a new record in the Guinness Book of
World Records.

“The authorities of the Guinness Book of World Records published it at
their website on Monday,” said DSCC Public Relations Officer Uttam Kumar Roy.

DSCC in collaboration with Reckitt Benckiser Bangladesh organized the
campaign in the capital on April 13 last to create awareness among people to
keep the city a clean.

A total of 7,021 people, including members of Rover Scouts, Bangladesh
National Cadet Core (BNCC), Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Fire Service,
celebrities, actors, students from educational institutions and social
activists, took part in the campaign.

India’s Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) hit the record as more than
5,000 people took part in a clean-up drive in the Indian city.
