Indian business delegation calls on PM

SANGSAD BHABAN, Sept 12, 2018 (BSS)- Visiting delegation of Indian Chamber of Commerce today made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Sangsad Bhaban office here this evening.

President of Indian Chamber of Commerce Rudra Chatterjee led the five-member delegation.

Briefing reporters after the meeting PM’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim said the delegation members expressed their satisfaction over the excellent relations between the two countries in different areas.

The appreciated Bangladesh’s overall development in the socioeconomic areas under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina saying they are overwhelmed to see huge change in last ten years.

Sheikh Hasina welcomed the Indian business delegation to Bangladesh and said her government would welcome Indian investment in Bangladesh.

The government has allocated land in Mirersari, Chittagong for Indian investors saying her government has offered giving various facilities for setting up industries.

In this regard she pointed out the tax facilities given on import of Indian goods including medical equipment.

The Indian delegation members proposed accelerating cooperation in manufacturing and health sector saying they are keen to produce some goods jointly with Bangladesh.

The delegation proposed to Bangladesh to import tea from North East Indian states to meet up its growing demand which according to the delegation would be profitable for Bangladesh.

The delegation also offered giving training to the paramedic staffs of Bangladesh, the press secretary said.

PM’s Advisor on International Affairs Dr Gowher Rizvi and PMO Secretary Sazzadul Hassan were present.
