Nigeria keen to expand trade relation with Bangladesh

DHAKA, Sept 08, 2018 (BSS) – The Nigerian government is very keen to strengthen existing bilateral ties with Bangladesh and avail the huge potentials of both countries to expand trade and commercial relations.

Various bilateral issues between the two friendly countries came up in a meeting as High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria Md Shameem Ahsan on Friday called on Nigerian State Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment Aisha Abubakar at her office.

“During the courtesy meeting, both sides expressed their keen interest to strengthen existing cordial bilateral relations,” said an official release issued here this evening.

The Bangladesh High Commissioner urged Nigerian investors to invest in Bangladesh availing the numerous incentives to invest here.

“There are huge demands of the readymade garments (RMG), pharmaceuticals, ceramics, jute products and handicrafts in the Nigerian market and Nigerian businessmen could gain by importing from Bangladesh as the price is competitive and of international standard,” he added.

Both the High Commissioner and the Nigerian Minister stressed on launching a “Bangladesh-Nigeria Chamber of Commerce” which can act as a platform to facilitate stronger commercial relations in this regard.
