NAOGAON, Nov 16, 2017 (BSS) – Police in a drive arrested five suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Nauduli Bazar area under Atrai upazila of the district early this morning.
The arrested are Abdullah alias Rafik, 42, Abdur Razzak alias Masum alias Babul, 25, Muajjem Hossain alias Bulet, 30, Lulu Sarder alias Sahid Mistri, 30, and Masud Rana alias Hossain alias Atiq, 25. They are residents of different upazilas in Naogaon and Natore district.
On a tip-off, a team of police conducted the drive in the area at about 3 am and arrested the five JMB members while they were holding a secret meeting, said Rakibul Akhter, additional superintendent of police, Naogaon.
The law enforcers also recovered two foreign-made pistols, two magazines, 13 bullets and huge explosives from their possession, he added.
A case was filed with Atrai police station in this connection.
