Lightning kills farmer in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Aug 02, 2018 (BSS) – A farmer was killed by lightning amid inclement weather in village Pathanpara under Radhanagar union in Badarganj upazila here this afternoon, police said.
“The deceased was identified as Mominul Islam, 42, son of Abul Hossain of the same village,” Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badarganj Thana Md Shahinul Alam told BSS tonight.
The accident occurred when thunderbolt struck Mominul Islam injuring his seriously while he was ploughing his land with power tiller there amid drizzles.
“Local people immediately rushed Mominul Islam to Badarganj Upazila Health Complex where attending physicians declared him dead,” the OC added.
