Driver of killer bus must be punished: Nasim

DHAKA, August 01, 2018 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim today said driver of the bus, which killed two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College on July 29 on airport road, must be brought to justice.

“I hate those who ran the bus over innocent children and demand trial of the offenders,” he said this, while inaugurating the World Breastfeeding Week 2018 as the chief guest at Krishibid Institute in the city.

The minister urged guardians of all students, demonstrating to ensure punishment to culprits, to refrain their children from agitating.

“Please do not send your children to streets any more. The people of the entire country, including you people, are being harmed on,” he said.

Nasim said none supported such incident and all strongly condemned it, adding, “Of course it’s a big offence, but you have to understand that soon after the incident the government has taken necessary action against them.”

Chaired by health secretary Sirajul Haque Khan, the programme was addressed, among others, by health education and family welfare secretary GM Saleh Uddin and officials concerned.

The minister said Bangladesh ranked third in the globe for breastfeeding after Sri Lanka and Cuba.
