Int’l training program begins at DU

DHAKA, June 15, 2021 (BSS) – A 5-day long international training program on ‘Hands on Training on Fundamental Web and Application Security Issues for NREN Professionals’ began today at Dhaka University campus.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the training program virtually as chief guest at the university’s Professor Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom, said a press release.

Institute of Information Technology (IIT) of Dhaka University in collaboration with EU Asia Connect Project has been organising the training.

Director of IIT Dr. Mohammed Shafiul Alam Khan presided over the inaugural ceremony while Director General of Digital Security Agency of ICT Division Md Khairul Amin and Dr Md Shariful Islam of DU IIT attended as special guests.

While addressing Akhtaruzzaman said Bangladesh has achieved tremendous success in digitalisation of the country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

DU Institute of Information Technology (IIT) has been playing a significant role in developing skilled human resources in the ICT sector since its inception, he added.

He stressed the need for disseminating the information security knowledge and technologies among concerned IT engineers, technicians, young academicians and security professionals to curb cybercrimes.

IT professionals from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar have been participating in this 5-day long international training program.
