3,87,940 get second dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Rangpur

RANGPUR, June 15, 2021 (BSS) – The number of citizens who got the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine reached 3,87,940 in Rangpur division where 30 more people were inoculated today.

Health officials said the 30 citizens, including 27 male and three female, all hailing from Rangpur district alone, were inoculated with the second dose of the jab today.

None was vaccinated today due to vaccine scarcity in seven other districts of the division where the daily infection rate is rising speedily in recent days.

“The total of 3,87,940 second dose recipient citizens, including 2,47,080 male and 1,40,860 female, previously got the first dose at least two months ago,” Acting Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam said.

The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 3,87,940 citizens stands at 89,599 in Rangpur, 31,753 in Panchagarh, 50,273 in Nilphamari, 27,920 Lalmonirhat, 33,769 in Kurigram, 37,359 in Thakurgaon, 78,830 in Dinajpur and 38,387 in Gaibandha.

“Meanwhile, none was vaccinated today with the first dose of the jab since April 26 last in Rangpur division where the number of citizens who got the first dose of the jab remained steady at 5,96,943 people,” Dr Islam added.
