President for repatriating expatriate Bangladeshis stranded in Libya

DHAKA, June 15, 2021 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid asked the new Bangladesh ambassador to Libya to take special initiative to protect the interests of expatriate Bangladeshis and repatriate Bangladeshi citizens stranded in Libya.

The head of the state came up with the directives as the newly appointed ambassador of Bangladesh to Libya Major General SM Shamim UZ Zaman paid courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban here this evening.

During the meeting, the President also directed the envoy to take care so that no expatriate Bangladeshis is not deceived there anyway, President’s Press secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS after the meeting.

Abdul Hamid also directed the ambassador to explore all sorts of prospective for the development of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Libya.

The envoy sought full cooperation and guidance of the President during his assignments.

President’s Office Secretary Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin and Secretary (attached) Wahidul Islam Khan were present on the occasion.
