DMP arrests 2 for delivering fake Covid-19 test reports
DHAKA, May 31, 2021 (BSS) – The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Detective Lalbagh Division arrested two members of the Corona Test Report Fraud Gang from Bangshal area of the capital on Sunday.
The arrested are Md Monir Hossain, 38, and Md Rafiqul Islam alias Rubel, 24.
During the arrest, a monitor, a printer, a CPU, a keyboard and two fake test reports were recovered from their possession.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Lalbagh Division Saifur Rahman Azad said they were arrested in a raid at Al Medical Pharma on Nazim Uddin Road in Bangshal Police Station around 4pm on Sunday.
During preliminary interrogation, the detainees said that a Covid-19 negative report is required for any operation at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. They used to make negative reports and change positive reports into negative ones in exchange of money.
Following the allegations of a number of victims and ENT authority of DMC hospital, the intelligence team raided and arrested them.
A case has been lodged with Bangshal police station in this regard.
