Shahriar for giving importance to science education

RAJSHAHI, April 1, 2017 (BSS)- Highlighting enormous aspects of expanding science education towards building digital Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam has called for giving highest importance to it in country’s advancement journey

He mentioned that this is the high time to build science-based skilled and knowledge-based human resources to take the nation forward as the demand of information and communication technologies are rapidly increasing.

The state minister was addressing the inaugural ceremony of a daylong golden jubilee festival of Seroil Government High School in the city yesterday as chief guest.

With Vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University of Engineer and Technology Prof Rafiqul Alam Beg in the chair, former Pro-VC of Rajshahi University Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan, Mayor-in-Charge of Rajshahi City Corporation Nizam-Ul Azim and Headmaster of the school Abdur Rashid also spoke.

State Minister Shahriar Alam, a former student of the school, has said the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to building a prosperous Bangladesh through boosting production and generating employment.

He said Bangladesh has attained significant success in various development indicators. The country at present is progressing fast in every sector, especially improving foreign policy, ICT, food production, power generation and distribution, education, women empowerment, GDP and per capita income.

State Minister Alam said the present students should be enriched with the nation-building ideals and education of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for furthermore progress of the country.

He said Bangabandhu had brought up his all family members with appropriate leadership characteristics and all of us should follow the ideals properly for sake of the country’s welfare.

Listing various education expansion programmes of the government Shahriar Alam said the government is pledged bound to enrich the list of competent human resource.

He said the youth forces have already started building Digital Bangladesh through their learning and earning activities. Present government is extending all support towards them so that they could build themselves as ICT-based income-generators.
