Khulna, May 14, 2021(BSS) – Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest religious festival of the Muslims, was celebrated in the city and district today with due religious fervour, gaiety and solemnity maintaining health safety guidelines in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic .
The main Eid Congregation was held at Town Jame Mosque in the city at 8.00 am. The second and last Jamaat was also held at the same venue here at 9.00am and 10.00am respectively.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Khulna Md Helal Hossain, city and district level officials including, leaders of the political parties, elite of the city, professionals and people from all walks of life joined the congregation.
Mowlana Md. Saleh, Khatib of Town Jame Mosque, conducted the main Eid prayer.
Another big Eid Jamaat was also held at City’s Court Jame Mosque at 8.30am.
The other Eid Jamaats were also held on the premises of city’s Islamabad Eidgah, Khalishpur Eidgah, Alia Madrsa, Baitun Nur Jame Mosque, PTI Jame Mosque, KDA Nirala Jame Mosque, Basupara Eidgah, Iqbal Nagar Jame Mosque, Baitunnur Jame Mosque, Talimul Millat Darul Ulum Jame Mosque, Deana Eidgah, Farazipara Eidgah, Zila Police Line Maidan, Boyra Metropolitan Police Line Maidan, Zoragate C&B Colony Maidan, B L College Maidan, all KCC Wards and all upazila headquarters in Khulna district maintaining health guide lines.
A total of 3,748 Eid Jamaat were held in the city and all nine upazila in the district while huge volunteers were deployed in addition to police for health safety and security of all Eid Jamaats, said DC .
Of the total Jamaat, 755 were held under 31 wards in the city corporation area and 2,993 were held under nine upazila of the district.
National flag was hoisted atop all the government buildings and main roads were also decorated with festoons and flags inscribed with ‘Eid Mubarak’ and ‘Allahu Akbar’.
Special and improved diets were also served among the inmates of the different hospitals, jails, Shishu Paribars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centers in the city and district.
Both Khulna Metropolitan and District police administration also took adequate steps and the members of Police, Rab, Ansar and other law enforcing agencies were deployed everywhere for peaceful celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
