AL leader Muhibullah’s killers will not be exempted: Hasan

CHATTOGRAM, May 8, 2021 (BSS)- Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, MP today said that those involved in the murder of AL leader Muhibullah in Rangunia would not be exempted.

However, if any innocent person is found in this case, police will release them subject to investigation, he said.
“If there is no accused in the case, but if there is any involvement in the police investigation, they must also be brought under the law,” he added.

Dr Hasan said this as chief guest while distributing food items among the families who lost their jobs due to the lockdown at the Kodala High School ground under Rangunia upazila of the district on Saturday evening.

The food items were distributed at the initiative of the Information Minister’s family organization NNK Foundation.
BNP-Jamaat and Hefazat leaders and activists staged a protest procession at Kodala under Rangunia after news broke that Hefazat leader Mamunul Haque had been detained at a resort in Sonargaon, Narayanganj on the night of April 3.

AL leader Muhibullah was attacked and killed from the possession of Kodala ,he said.

He said those who killed Awami League leader Muhibullah in a procession against Sheikh Hasina and Awami League have not stood beside the people in this danger period.

“They did not give a single handful of rice to any human being. But from the very beginning, the Awami League has stood beside the common men upon the direction of the Prime Minister,” he added.

The minister said that food aid was provided to 20,000 families in Rangunia along with government assistance through the NNK Foundation in the first phase of Corona.
“When the second wave started, more than 10,000 families have already been given food aid,” he added.

Union AL President Badiul Alam Master presided over the function while Chattogram North District AL leaders Idris Azgar and Nazrul Islam Talukder, Upazila AL general secretary Engineer Shamsul Alam Talukder, youth and sports secretary Kausar Nur Liton, among others addressed the function as special guests.

At that time, relief aid was handed over to 400 poor people of the union.

Earlier, the Information Minister visited the grave of the deceased AL leader Muhibullah and gifted a CNG autorickshaw to his bereaved family members.

He also conveyed his deepest condolences to the family member of the deceased Muhibullah.
