Abahani crush Rahmatganj 6-0 as Belfort slams hat-trick

DHAKA, May 7, 2021 (BSS)-Haitian forward Kervens Belfort slammed a brilliant hat-trick saw Abahani Limited, Dhaka, crushed Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 6-0 goals in the second round match of Bangladesh Premier League Football held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium here.

In the day’s match, Belfort slammed hat-trick with three goals, defender Mamun Mai and Afghan defender Masih Saighani netted one goal each for Abahani Limited while Rahmatganj Tajikistan defender Khurshed Beknazarov scored a suicidal goal, as Abahani Limited register their ninth victories in the league.

The winners’ led the first half by 3-0 goals.

Abahani Limited launched several attacks in the beginning of the match creating pressure on Rahmatganj. They got the lead through a suicidal goal when Rahmatganj defender Khurshed Beknazarov scored an own goal in the 27thminute of the match.

Kervens Belfort doubled the lead scoring his first and second goal for Abahani Limited in the 37th minute and further widened the margin scoring his second and third goal for Abahani Limited in the 43rd minute of the match.

After the resumption, Belfort completed his hat-trick scoring his third and fourth goal for Abahani Limited in the 62ndminute of the match while Mamun Mia joined the party scoring the fifth goal for Abahani Limited in the 65th minute of the match.

Masih Saighani completed the winners’ tally scoring the sixth goal for Abahani Limited in the 85th minute of the match.

The six times league champions Abahani Limited completely dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory while the old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society were totally off-colored on the day.

The day’s win saw, the traditional sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited moved up second position in the points table with 32 points from 15 matches while Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society remained at their previous credit of 14 points playing the same number of outings.
