IGP asks police to maintain professionalism

DHAKA, May 8, 2021 (BSS) – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed today asked the newly promoted superintendents of police (SPs) to perform their duties perfectly maintaining professionalism, morality and values high at their respective workplaces.

“Maintain professionalism, morality and values high in your workplace,” the IGP told the newly promoted officers to the post of SP at a function at the Police Headquarters here today.

Congratulating the promoted officers, the IGP said the promotion is not only for you, but also it’s a dignity and pleasure for the respective family members also.

“Your journey has just begun, you have to go a long way in the days to come,” he said, suggesting them for taking a massive preparation in this regard.

The IGP also advised them to accept the good thing and simultaneously avoid the bad ones.

Noting that Bangladesh Police is one of the Government’s reputed Organization which is responsible for ensuring security of people, their properties and the country, the police chief said, “We have to work to protect the honor and dignity of this organization.”

The IGP further mentioned that it is a noble profession as there are immense opportunities to serve the country and the people.

“So each police member must be ready to face any challenge and take responsibility,” he added.

Additional IGP Dr Md Moinur Rahman Chowdhury, DMP Commissioner Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, CID Chief and Additional IGP Barrister Md Mahbubur Rahman and SB Chief Md Monirul Islam, Additional IGP (Finance) SM Ruhul Amin, Additional IGP (HRM) Md Mazharul Islam, heads of various police units in Dhaka and senior police officials from the police headquarters were present on the occasion.
