Govt. strives to work for farmers well being- Razzak

KHULNA, May 05, 2021(BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzak today said government is procuring paddy directly from the farmers so that they will get fair price through using ‘Krishaker App’ during Covid-19 pandemic.

“Government is working untiringly for wellbeing of the farmers to ensure their better livelihood to make the country a developed one,” he said this today (Wednesday) while virtually inaugurated Boro Paddy procurement prgramme in Dumuria upazila in Khulna.

At present, there is no food scarcity in the country, he said, adding that adequate food was hoarded in the government depot, but a vested quarter is out to campaign about food scarcity.

The minister said government has taken digital initiative to procure paddy with honesty and integrity from farmers.

Farmers will purchase there paddy in fair price from their residence through login registration.

Farmers harassment will also reduce through digital system procurement and they will get paddy selling money through bKash account.

Lawmaker of Khulna-5 constituency Narayan Chandra Chanda, Food secretary Dr Nazmanara Khanam and Khulna divisional commissioner Md Ismail Hossain addressed the event as guest of honour with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md helal Hossain in the chair.

Regional Controller of Food Md Mahbubur Rahman, Additional deputy commissioner(General) Yousup Ali, additional deputy commissioner(Education and ICT) Md Sadekur Rahman, deputy director of department of Agricultural Extension Hafizur Rahman and district Food Controller Md Babul Hossain was present as special guests.

Government has fixed Boro Rice procurement target around 8,957 tons and farmers will sell their Boro paddy until August 16 this year through login ‘Krishaker App’, said DC Md Helal Hossain.

Farmers will also sell their rice through using Digital Rice Procurement Aps like previous year, he added.
