BGB seizes Tk 130 cr smuggled goods in April

DHAKA, May 2, 2021 (BSS) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in its drives seized various smuggled goods worth about Taka 130 crore from the country’s frontier areas in April last.

The BGB seized about 17 lakh yaba pills, over 18,000 bottles of Phensedyl, 17,600 bottles of foreign liquour, 1,717 kgs of ganja, 13 kgs of heroin and other contraband drug items during the period, a BGB press release said.

In their drives, the BGB personnel also seized 2.1-kg gold, 37 silver, 1.4 lakh pieces of cosmetics goods, 4,385 pieces of Shari, 6,870 cubic feet of smuggled woods, 12 covered vans, one private car, three pickup vans, eight CNG-run autorickshaw and 122 motorcycles.

They also seized 5 pistols, two rifles, one LG and 610-kg explosions.
