Dhaka Abahani lose valuable points

DHAKA, April 30, 2021 (BSS)- Bangladesh Police Football Club, came from behind, forced Abahani Limited, Dhaka to play a 2-2 goal draw in their opening second round match of Bangladesh Premier League Football held today night at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Thanks to Ivorian midfielder Christian Kouakou for his two goals in the match that helped Bangladesh Police Football Club to snatch valuable point.

In the day’s match, midfielder Jewel Rana gave Abahani Limited a deserving lead in the 34th minute but the lead last for few minutes as Christian Kouakou restored the parity for Bangladesh Police Football Club in the 41stminute of the match.

After resumption, Nigerian midfielder Sunday Chizoba again put the traditional sky blue Dhanmondi outfit ahead in the 43rd minutes while Christian Kouakou again leveled the margin scoring his second goal in the 60th minute of the match.

In the remaining proceeding, Abahani tried heart and soul to increase the margin but failed to convert any lack of proper finishing.

With the day’s outcome, Abahani Limited secured 26 points from 13 matches while Bangladesh Police Football Club bagged 13 points from the same number of outings.

Saturday’s matches: Mohammedan SC vs Arambagh Krira Sangha (4 pm), Rahmatganj MFS vs Saif Sporting Club (7 pm) and Chittagong Abahani Limited vs Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club (9 pm). All the matches will be held at the same venue.
