Taposh for close monitoring of mosquito cleaning
DHAKA, April 21, 2021 (BSS) – Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation
(DSCC) Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today directed the Regional
Executive Officers (DEOs) to closely monitor the mosquito control
activities at the field level and start cleaning drainage system.
“April is coming to an end, Eid is ahead…. At this time, we are
seeing an outbreak of dengue mosquitoes and some Aedes mosquito larvae
are found everywhere, so you have to monitor the matter closely and
start activities of cleaning drainage system,” he said.
He gave the instructions at a meeting with all the regional
executive officers and department heads on the zoom platform, said a
press release.
“You will oversee our efforts so that our activities are not
disrupted in any way,” he added.
“Open drains cleaning activities are part of our ongoing work
plan…Though WASA had a budget and annual activities drainage
cleaning but we saw that it was never effective,” he said.
The online meeting was conducted by DNCC Chief Executive Officer
ABM Amin Ullah Nuri while Chief Engineer Rezaur Rahman, Secretary
Akramuzzaman and heads of various departments and Regional Executive
Officers attended the meeting.
