Another emergency meeting with BPL to be held Wednesday
DHAKA, April 18, 2021 (BSS) – Another emergency meeting with the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) issue will be held on Wednesday (April 21) as no decision has been made to start the second leg of BPL in the sub-committee’s second meeting under the Professional League Management Committee held today.
However, everyone present in the meeting expressed their opinion about starting the second leg of BPL as soon as possible.
The second emergency meeting of the sub-committee affairs of BPL 2020-21, under the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Professional League Management Committee, was held today through a virtual platform.
The meeting was attended by Professional League Committee’s chairman Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP, Professional League Committee’s deputy chairman Abdur Rahim, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag and all the members of the participating clubs of BPL.
After the meeting, BFF senior vice president and Professional Football League Committee’s chairman Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP, said the members present at the meeting will observe the impending decision of the government lockdown due to the situation related to Covid-19, and in coordination with various international games, expressed their opinion about starting the league as soon as possible.
Following the discussion of the meeting, the government’s upcoming decision on lockdown and coordination with the AFC Cup 2021 and World Cup qualifiers a draft fixture of the BPL 2020-21 will be prepared and will be sent to the participating club football teams for their opinion soon and the meeting also decided to hold another emergency meeting in this regard on Wednesday (April 21), he added.
Earlier, the BFF deferred the second leg of the Bangladesh Premier League and the second leg of the second-tier competition Bangladesh Champions League due to lockdown imposed by the government.
