DHAKA, April 13, 2021 (BSS) – Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam today directed the officials of the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) to ensure uninterrupted water supply in rural and municipal areas.
The minister also directed DPHE authorities to keep soap along with ample water supply in the hand-washing stations set up at different points of the district and upazila levels to prevent Coronavirus infection, said a press release here.
He gave the directives in a virtual view exchange meeting with DPHE officials on tackling Covid-19 and ongoing development activities.
The minister also advised not to install tube wells without checking the water quality.
During the meeting, the field level officials informed the minister about the various activities undertaken by the Department of Public Health Engineering to ensure uninterrupted delivery of water and other services to the people.
The meeting was attended by Helaluddin Ahmed, Senior Secretary of Local Government Department and Md Saifur Rahman, Chief Engineer of Department of Public Health Engineering, among others.
