DHAKA, April 13, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League Joint General Secretary
and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today
greeted all Bangalees both at home and abroad, including media
personnel, on the eve of Bangla New Year 1428.
The minister described the Bangla New Year as a universal festival
of Bangalees, saying all the nations and peoples across the globe have
their own universal festivals.
Hasan said the Chinese celebrate ‘Chinese New Year’, from Iran to
Central Asia celebrate ‘Nowruz’ and the English-speaking people
celebrate ‘English New Year’.
Like that Pohela Baishakh is a universal festival of Bengalees.
Bangladesh, the minister said, has already shown its ability in
combating the prevalence of COVID -9 pandemic. “Our pledge will be in
the Bangla New Year to keep the epidemic under control by following
the guidelines and health code given by the government,” he added.
Hasan urged all to maintain all health code.
