Ismail finishes 8th in Int’l Imam Reza Athletic Cup
DHAKA, April 13, 2021 (BSS)- Country’s fastest man Mohammad Ismail finished 8th position in the 100m sprint event final of International Athletic Imam Reza Athletic Cup Tournament that concluded Monday at the Imam Reza Stadium in Mashhad city of Iran, said a press release.
Ismail, the long jumper, took 10.91 seconds to finish the position in this event while sprinter Hossain Ali Al Khafazi of host Iran won gold in this event taking the time of 10.44 seconds.
Besides, high jumper Mahfuzur Rahman jumped 2.05m to finish sixth position among the tenth athletes in the high jump event.
Sprinter Mohammed Ismail and Al Amin were supposed to take part in the long jump event on the last day of the meet but unfortunately, Ismail got a hamstring injury in the first jump. Al-Amin jumped 6.99m to finish ninth position out of twelve athletes.
The four members of the athletics team, comprising three players and a team manager, left for Iran on April 9 last to take part in the tournament, and returned home this afternoon.
