Five SA Emerging Women’s members test positive for Covid-19

DHAKA, April 13, 2021 (BSS)—Five members of the South African Women’s Emerging team were tested positive for coronavirus in Sylhet yesterday.

The five members including four players returned positive when they underwent a mandatory test at Sylhet’s MAG Osmani Medical College before leaving Dhaka for South Africa.

The four players who tested positive in yesterday’s tests are: Sinalo Jafta, Leah Jones, Nobulumko Baneti, Robyn Searle while team manager Marsia Letsoalo also tested positive.

They stayed back in Dhaka and are in isolation now in a hotel while the rest of the members who returned negative departed for South Africa.

The South African team shortened the tour as the fifth and last match which was scheduled to be held on Tuesday was cancelled due to the rapid spread of coronavirus in Bangladesh and nationwide lockdown from Wednesday.

Bangladesh Emerging Women’s team won the first four matches to take an unassailable 4-0 lead in the series.
