24,400 yaba tablets seized in Jhalokati
JHALOKATI, April 4, 2021 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 24,400 pieces of contraband yaba tablets in the town last night.
RAB-8 said in a press release this afternoon.
The detainees were identified as Belayet Hossain, 40, hailed from Noakhali district and Nir Ahmed, 41, a resident of Chattogram district.
Corporal Md Habibur Rahman of RAB-8 said on information, RAB conducted a raid at a residential hotel in Batashapotti area last night and arrested the duo with the yaba tablets.
RAB also seized Taka 81,830 from their possession during the drive.
A case was filed against them with Jhalokati Sadar Thana under Narcotics Control Act.
