5,58,953 get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, April 3, 2021 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine recipient citizens reached 5,58,953 with inoculation of more 4,600 people today in Rangpur division.

Health officials said the daily number of vaccine recipient citizens is declining in recent days due to inadequacy of COVID-19 vaccines amid hastily rising infection rate across the division.

“The 4,600 citizens, who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines today in the division, include 2,494 male and 2,106 female,” Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS tonight.

The total 5,58,953 citizens vaccinated so far with COVID-19 vaccines include 3,36,094 male and 2,22,859 female of all eight districts in the division.

All vaccine recipients are feeling okay without remarkable side effects except only 73 people who experienced temporary adverse events for a few minutes since launching of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign on February 7 in the division.

“The district-wise break-up of 5,58,953 vaccine recipients stands at 1,60,537 in Rangpur, 41,421 in Panchagarh, 71,180 in Nilphamari, 35,530 in Lalmonirhat, 43,915 in Kurigram, 46,428 in Thakurgaon, 1,01,097 in Dinajpur and 58,845 in Gaibandha,” Dr. Ali added.

Talking to BSS, Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu urged people to abide by the health directives to control the rising infection rate in the division.
