War against defeated forces not over yet: Jabbar
DHAKA, Mar 31, 2021 (BSS) – Minister for Posts and Telecommunications, Mustafa Jabbar has said as the defeated enemies of 1971 are getting stronger day by day to avenge their defeat, the war against them is yet to be finished.
“”After the assassination of Bangabandhu and his family, the defeated forces put their efforts to continue tarnishing the spirit of the great liberation war, ideologies of Bangabandhu and achievement of the freedom fighters for a total of 29 years, including 21 years from 1975 to 1996 and the next 8 years,” the minister said while speaking as the chief guest at the virtual unveiling ceremony of the memoirs of the Mujib Year titled ‘Hridoye Bangabandhu’ from his office, said a press release.
“For 29 years, the allies of the anti-independence force tried to convert the country into East Pakistan, and they are still doing it,” he added.
He also said that, “We must not forget that the country was liberated by the sacrifices of millions of people on the basis of Bangabandhu’s principles and ideals in 1971. It is the duty of every citizen of Bangladesh to properly present the principles and ideals of Bangabandhu to the new generation.”
Lauding the role of PM Sheikh Hasina’s visionary leadership, Jabbar said, “Bangladesh has established itself as a role model of development in the world through the visionary program of Bangabandhu and his worthy successor, PM Sheikh Hasina. The Digital Bangladesh program in 2009 has kept the normal standard of living alive, including health, education, trade and commerce, offices even in the wake of the global epidemic,” he said.
“While the GDP growth of many developed countries is negative, the growth of Bangladesh is 5.2 percent. It is an unimaginable success. Due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh today received the final recommendation of the United Nations to transform itself into a developing country,” Jabbar added.
He said Bangabandhu has sown the seeds of Digital Bangladesh by setting up a ground satellite in Betbunia, gaining membership of ITU and UPU and forming T&T board and nationalizing primary education.
Jabbar also expressed his strong hope that Bangladesh will make great strides in the days to come as the young generation is very talented and creative, said the release.
Engineer Abdus Sabur, Secretary, Science and Technology of Bangladesh Awami League, Engineer Sahab Uddin, Managing Director of Teletalk, Engineer Nurul Huda, President of IEB, Engineer Nuruzzaman and Engineer Manjur and General Editor Engineer Md Shahadat Hossain Shiblu also spoke, among others.
