DIG Ctg range vows to resist troublemakers

CHATTOGRAM, July 17, 2018 (BSS) – Newly appointed Deputy Inspector
General (DIG) of police for Chattogram Range Khandaker Golam Faruque today
said a major challenge now is to resist the vested quarters who want to
deteriorate law and order ahead of upcoming national election.

“We are trying our best to resist the vested quarters…and we have also
the capacity enough to deal with terrorism and militancy,” he told a press
briefing at his office here on the occasion of taking the charges as DIG for
Chattogrm Range.

Faruque said steps have been taken to prepare a list of possible
troublemakers, who may create chaos ahead of the up upcoming general
election, and take action against them.

He said drug trade is one of the main causes of spreading crimes in the
Chattogram region. Steps will be taken to check supply of drugs and it will
be more effective than arrest of petty drug peddlers, the DIG said.
