Taposh inaugurates free health campaign marking ‘Mujib Year’

DHAKA, March 8, 2021 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor
Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today said all the initiatives are taken
to ensure the primary healthcare services for the people of DSCC areas.

“We’ve been taking various initiatives to ensure primary healthcare
services in the DSCC areas and all our initiatives and activities are being
implemented to ensure the services for the city people,” he said while
inaugurating a six-day free First Aid service at Yoginagar Adarsha Balika
High School premises marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“We’re constructing secondary transfer stations (STSs) in each ward and
ensuring waste removal management from there… And we are controlling
mosquitoes, constructing centers for social events in every ward,” the mayor
added.

“We’ve already taken control over the canals from the Dhaka Water Supply
and Sewerage Authority and removed 200,000 tonnes of waste silt from the
canals and box culverts while cleaning them. As a result, flowing of water in
the canals will be easier,” he continued.

“Our only goal is to realize the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman for building the country as “Sonar Bangla” and our beloved leader
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working towards that goal,” said Taposh.

“Under her leadership, in just 12 years, we have achieved the capacity to
build the Padma Bridge, become self-sufficient in power generation, the world
is looking at us with dignity, we have overcome all obstacles and set an
example of development,” he further mentioned.

Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, local
councilors of ward-37 and women councilors of reserved seats and councilors
of wards 41 and 44, local ward Awami League, Juba League and Chhatra League
leaders were present on the occasion.

The free first aid services will be provided health services from March 8
to March 10 at Ward No-1 to Ward No-38 and March 11, 13 and 14 at rest of the
wards from 9 am to 3 pm.
