Four more test COVID-19 positive in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, March 6, 2021 (BSS) – Four more people were reported coronavirus (COVID-19) positive today raising the total number of infected patients to 15,865 in all eight districts of Rangpur division.

Health officials said the four new cases were reported after diagnosing 125 samples at the daily infection rate of 3.20 percent today in the division.

Among the six new patients diagnosed today, none was reported positive after diagnosing 36 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in Rangpur city.

Meanwhile, all of the four new patients hailing from District were reported positive after diagnosing 89 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur today.

Talking to BSS, Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui said the number of COVID-19 patients rose to 15,865 as four new positive cases were reported from across the division today.

“The district-wise break up of total 15,865 patients stands at 4,051 in Rangpur, 795 in Panchagarh, 1,338 in Nilphamari, 966 in Lalmonirhat, 1,021 in Kurigram, 1,513 in Thakurgaon, 4,716 in Dinajpur and 1,465 in Gaibandha,” Dr. Siddiqui added.
