Two held with Yaba tablets in Rangpur

RANGPUR, March 6, 2021 (BSS) – The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur
Metropolitan Police (RpMP) in separate raids arrested two presumed drug
traders with 500 pieces of Yaba tablets from different areas in the
metropolis on Friday night.

“On a tip-off, a special operational team of the RpMP’s DB police
conducted a raid in Abdul Latif Government Primary School area under
Porshuram Thana and nabbed a drug trader with 400 Yaba tablets,” a press
release said here today.

The arrested is Md. Mamun Anam, 30, of Munshipara under Kotwali Thana of
RpMP in Rangpur metropolis.

In another raid, the DB police seized 100 pieces of the contraband tablets
and arrested drug trader Md. Asharf Islam, 27, of Munshipara area under
Kotwali Thana of RpMP in the metropolis.

Besides, the DB police in separate overnight raids arrested seven drug
addicts from different areas of the metropolis for taking drugs and seized
ganja and other inputs.

The arrested addicts are Nur Islam Siddik, 21, Abdur Razzaque, 37, Jewell
Rana, 25, Atikul Islam Roman, 39, Sajib Khondker, 26, Rajab Ali, 49, and Md.
Rakib, 35, of different areas in the city.

Assistant Commission of Police (Detective Branch and Media) of RpMP Uttam
Kumar Pathok said separate cases were filed against the arrested persons with
the respective police stations of RpMP today.
