RANGPUR, March 5, 2021 (BSS) – The district and city units of Awami League
(AL), its associate bodies and other organisations have taken daylong
programmes to celebrate the historic March 7 in the city on Sunday.
Celebration of the day has got special importance during the year-long
celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman by the grateful nation. General Secretary of district AL
Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu said the day will be celebrated to further
consolidate national unity like that in 1971 to realise Bangabandhu’s dream
of building a Sonar Bangla under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina.
The district and city units of AL, its associate bodies, including Chhatra
League, Jubo League, Swechchasebak League (SSL), Krishak League, Sramik
League, socio-cultural and professional organisations will celebrate the day
through various programmes.
The programmes include hoisting of national and party flags, placing
wreaths at the portrait and mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman, playing of the historic March 7 Speech of Bangabandhu
throughout the day and discussions.
The main discussion will be held at the party’s district unit office in the
Betpotti area of the city. President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed will
preside the meeting.
Leaders of AL and its associate bodies, in the discussion, will highlight
the importance of the March 7 speech of Bangabandhu that instantly inspired
the nation to remain prepared for achieving ultimate independence through the
War of Liberation in 1971.
