Workaholic person like HT Imam rare in society: Quader
DHAKA, March 4, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary and Road
Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said workaholic and
dedicated person like HT Imam was rare in society.
“HT Imam worked dedicatedly for the country before he was hospitalized. He
retired from service but didn’t retire from work,” he said.
He made the comments after paying his last tribute to Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina’s Political Affairs Adviser and Awami League Advisory Council Member
HT Imam on behalf of the party at the Central Shaheed Minar here.
Quader said HT Imam had stayed beside Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman after the independence.
HT Imam worked with utmost sincerity as the political affairs adviser to
Sheikh Hasina while he was the chief of the media cell of Awami League, he
added.
Awami League Advisory Council Member Mukul Bose, Awami League Presidium
Members Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, AL Joint General
Secretary and Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Joint General Secretary
Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Organizing Secretaries Ahmed Hossain and Afjal Hossain,
Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, Relief and Social Welfare
Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Science and Technology Secretary Abdus Sabur,
Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan and Central Working Committee Member
Advocate Riazul Karim Kawser were present on the occasion, among others.
AL’s Dhaka City South Unit, Awami Jubo League, Bangladesh Chhatra League
(BCL), Bangladesh Krishak League, Mohila Awami League, Jubo Mohila League,
Awami Swechchhasebak League, Jatiya Sramik League, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal
(JSD), Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, Jatiya Kabita Parishad (JKP),
different social-cultural organizations, government officials, teachers,
poets, writers and intellectuals also paid respect to HT Imam.
HT Imam passed away while undergoing treatment at Combined Military
Hospital (CMH) in the early hours of today.
