Police Memorial Day observed in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, March 1, 2021 (BSS)- Police Memorial Day- 2021 was observed in Rajshahi today recalling with gratitude the contribution of the policemen, who were killed in the line of duty.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and Rajshahi Range Police jointly paid
rich tribute to the policemen, who sacrificed their lives while discharging
their duties to maintain law and order in a befitting manner.

To mark the day, the highest -ranking police officials placed wreaths on
the memorial plaque at RMP Police line and observed a one minute silence
there showing profound respect to the martyred police personnel in the
morning.

They also held a discussion meeting at POM conference hall. RMP
Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique addressed the meeting as chief guest, while
Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Joydeb Kumar Bhadra, RMP
Additional Commissioners Sujayet Islam and Mazid Ali and RAB-5 Commanding
Officer Lt Col Abdul Muttakim spoke as special guests with Superintendent of
Police Masud Hossain in the chair.

The RMP Commissioner said Bangladesh Police will remain ever grateful to
the policemen, who sacrificed their lives while discharging duties, making
the police force proud.

Recalling the contribution of the martyred policemen with due respect, he
said the police force will remember with profound respect the supreme
sacrifices of the policemen for giving away their lives for the noble cause.

Family members and relatives of 31 martyred policemen were accorded
reception and honoured on the occasion.
