10,257 more get COVID-19 vaccines in Rangpur div.

RANGPUR, Feb 28, 2021 (BSS) – Ten thousand two hundred fifty seven more people were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines today raising the total number of vaccine recipients to 2,84,234 in all eight districts of Rangpur division.

“The persons who were inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccines today, include 5,982 males and 4,275 females,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Ahad Ali told BSS today.

The total 2,84,234 citizens who got vaccine so far in the division include 1,83,342 males and 1,00,892 females.

“All vaccine recipient people are feeling okay without remarkable side effects though 68 of them experienced temporary adverse affect for a few minutes following vaccination since February 7 last in the division,” Dr. Ali said.

The district-wise break-up of total 2,84,234 vaccine recipients stands at 55,190 in Rangpur, 25,472 in Panchagarh, 37,510 in Nilphamari, 20,835 in Lalmonirhat, 25,844 in Kurigram, 31,382 in Thakurgaon, 61,341 in Dinajpur and 26,660 in Gaibandha.

Talking to BSS today at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH) vaccination centre, a number of vaccine recipient citizens highly appreciated excellent management for vaccination .

Civil Surgeon of Rangpur Dr. Herambo Kumar Roy said the COVID-19 vaccination campaign continues smoothly at sixteen booths set up at RpMCH and other eight upazila health complexes in the district since February 7 last.

Chief of Divisional Corona virus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu expressed happiness over the satisfaction of citizens while taking vaccines at government hospitals in the division.

He specially called upon everyone to sincerely abide by the health directives even after taking the vaccines to bring down the COVID-19 infection rate to the zero level and ultimately free the country from the deadly virus.
