DHAKA, Feb 24, 2021 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today said that housing in the areas of City Corporation will not be allowed without prior permission from the concerned authority.

He came up with the remarks while talking to journalists after visiting Fakirkhali area under Ward 75 of the Corporation.

As part of the weekly inspection programme, the DSCC mayor along with the officials of the corporation visited Trimohini Gudaraghat, Daserkandi, Balu nodir paar, Kayetpara Bazar, Ederkandi and Fakirkhali areas by boat.

After visiting several housing projects in those areas, Taposh said that some housing companies are occupying the land without the permission of the South City Corporation and those concerned companies are making houses in unplanned manner which brings public sufferings.

Despite the protests of the people of these areas, housing projects are still being done, he said, adding: “We have already instructed Estate Department of City Corporation in this regard.”

The concerned DSCC officials including the regional executive officer are instructed to stop dredging (excavation) in those housing projects as housing cannot be done without authentic permission.

“If necessary, I will confiscate the vehicles and equipment of those companies,” he added.

DSCC Chief Executive Officer ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, DSCC’s Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore Md Badrul Amin and Chief Engineer Rezaur Rahman were present, among others, during the visit.
