14-party alliance demands for using Bangla in all spheres

DHAKA, Feb 24, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League (AL)-led 14-party alliance
leaders today lodged a demand for protecting the dignity of the Bangla
language by using it in all spheres including the offices and the
jurisdiction.

To mark the Shaheed Dibash and the International Mother Language Day, the
top leaders of the alliance made this demand while they joined a virtual
meeting arranged by the party here.

At the same time, they also called for taking effective steps to include
‘Bangla’ as an official language at the United Nations and the Organisation
of Islamic Co-operation (OIC).

Chaired by AL’s Advisory Council Member, Coordinator and Spokesperson of
the central 14-party Amir Hossen Amu, the meeting was also addressed, among
others, by AL’s Presidium Member Dr Abdur Razzaque, its Joint General
Secretary Dr Dipu Moni, Workers Party General Secretary Fazley Hossen Badsha,
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal General Secretary Shirin Akhter, Jatiya Party (JP)
General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Convenor of Communist Kendra Dr
Wazedul Islam, Tariqat Federation Chairman Syed Nazibul Bashar, Gano Azadi
League President SK Sikder and Gonotantri Party General Secretary Dr Shahadat
Hossen.

AL’s Liberation War Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das moderated the programme.

The Education Minister emphasized on showing respect to the Bangla language
by introducing it in all spheres including the jurisdiction.

“Do not make any conspiracy against the government, the ongoing conspiracy
has been planned to destroy a nation,” said Shirin Akhter, adding that it is
necessary to make the nation united against the conspiracy through ensuring
good governance.
