Maximum five people from each organization to visit Shaheed Minar on Feb 21

DHAKA, Feb 15, 2021 (BSS) – The Dhaka University authorities have decided
to allow only five representatives from each organization and two
persons at the individual level to lay wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar
on International Mother Language Day.

Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, they said everyone has to wear
facemask for placing wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar on February 21.

The decision came from a meeting of the university’s Environment Council,
chaired by University Vice Chancellor Dr Akhtaruzzaman, held today at
university’s Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, said a press release
here today.

The meeting also decided that no one would be allowed to enter DU campus
without wearing masks on the Amar Ekushey.

DU Pro-VC (Administration) Dr Mohammad Samad, Treasurer Prof Mamtaz Uddin
Ahmed, DU Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani, DU Teachers’ Association (DUTA)
president, general secretary and representatives of all the active student’s
organizations were present in the meeting.

In the meeting, they also talked about opening the dormitories from March
13 only for the final year and master’s students, who will sit for the
examinations.

However, students have to leave the halls when all examinations will end,
added the release.
