Govt working to change poor people’s fate: Sujon

PANCHAGARH, Jan 23, 2021 (BSS) – Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon today said the present government is relentlessly working to change the fate of the poor people.

“Bangladesh will be hunger and poverty free country that was dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and no one will remain homeless in Mujib Year,” the minister addressing at the house handing over function among the landless people in Debiganj upazila of the district today as the chief guest.

The landless people are getting houses for living under the regime of Awami League government, he said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the programme across the country virtually staying at her official residence Ganabhaban today.

Later, Sujon handed over the documents regarding the ownership of the houses and other papers to the enlisted homeless and landless people.

After getting house and house paper, the eye disables beneficiary Asraful islam said “I am happy and overwhelm. I have no house. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given me a new Paka house. I appraised my gratitude to the Prime Minister and also prayed for her long life and sound health.”

Deputy Commissioner Sabina Yeasmin presided over the function. It was addressed, among others, by police super Yousuf Ali, upazila chairman Abdul Malek Chistee, UNO Prottoy Hasan and upazila Awami League president Gias Uddin Chowdhury.
