Bangladesh clinches 26th bilateral ODI series
DHAKA, Jan 22, 2021 (BSS) -Bangladesh confirmed their 26th ODI bilateral
series when they took an unassailable 2-0 lead against West Indies in three-
match series, crushing the visitors by seven wickets in the second match at
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today.
This is Bangladesh’s 21st series win on home soil while they won the rest
of the five series outside the country.
Bangladesh won the ODI series for the first time in 2005 by defeating
Zimbabwe. Bangladesh won the five-match ODI series 3-2 at home.
They won the first away series in 2006 when the Tigers whitewashed Kenya
in three-match series. Bangladesh won the last ODI series in March 2020 as
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza led the side to 3-0 sweep over Zimbabwe at home on his
last series as captain.
Bangladesh won last away series in 2018, beating West Indies by 2-1.
The latest series victory is Bangladesh third straight and overall fifth
series victory against West Indies.
