Robson secures 2nd win for Kings in BPL

DHAKA, Jan 19, 2021 (BSS)- Brazilian forward Robson scored a brace as
defending champion Bashundhara Kings recorded their second consecutive
victory in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football defeating Bangladesh
Police Football Club by 2-1 goals in their second round match held today at
Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.

Robson continued his prolific form scoring both the goals for Bashundhara,
coming in the first half, while Ivorian defender Lancine Toure netted the
lone goal for Police Football Club in the first half.

In the day’s match, Robson opened an account early for Bashundhara in the
16th minute while Lancine Toure restored the parity for Police Football Club
in the 42nd minute of the match.

Robson however, sealed the victory scoring his second goal in the 45th+1st
minute of the match.

After falling behind for the second time, the police came to the field
with better preparation and created dominance in the field. They also got
several chances to return to the match, but could not convert any of those in
the remaining proceeding.

Bashundhara Kings left the field with full points due to the failure of
the police Football Club as they could not score any goal despite finding
several chances. The champions are at the top of the points table with six
points from two matches. On the other hand, this is the second defeat for
police Football Club.

Earlier, Bashundhara Kings made a winning start in the league beating Uttar
Baridhara Club by 2-0 goals while Police Football Club lost to Abahani
Limited, Dhaka by a lone goal, both in their league opening matches.

Bashundhara Kings will play their next match against Brothers Union Club at
Shaheed Dhirendranath Stadium in Comilla while Bangladesh Police Football
Club will play against Uttar Baridhara Club at BNS in their next respective
matches on January 23.

Wednesday’s match: Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society vs Sheikh Russel
