Mujib Barsho” 2nd Div. Chess to begin from Jan. 20

DHAKA, Jan. 12, 2021 (BSS) – “Mujib Barsho” 2nd Division Chess League will begin from January 20 at the hall room of Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF), said a BCF press release today.

Organised by BCF, the nine-day league will conclude on January 28.

The event will be held either an eight or nine round Swiss-league system with each team will have four regular and two extra players.

Interested teams have been asked to enroll their names with the prescribed entry and registration fee by January 18.

The top two teams in the league will qualify for the First Division Chess League later this year.

It’s an international rating chess competition where the new players will have the chance to get ratings.

The event will have total prize money of Taka 50,000.00 with the champions will get Taka 25,000.00, the runners-up get Taka 15,000.00 and the third place finisher will get Taka 10,000.00 as prize money.

In this regard, a press conference was held today (Tuesday) at hall room of BCF.

BCF vice president KM Shahidullah, BCF general secretary Syed Shahab Uddin Shamim, BCF joint secretary Masudur Rahman Mallick Dipu, BCF executive member Zakir Ahmed and International Chess Arbiter Haroon Or Rashid were present in the press conference.
