DHAKA, Jan 11, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak today called for concerted efforts of all to thwart the ill-activities of the anti-liberation communal forces of the country.

“The anti-liberation forces of the country is engaging with the spree of hatching various conspiracies against the country ….To stop the ill forces, concerted efforts of all is needed now,” he said.

The AL leader made the call at a discussion organised by Awami Swechchhasebak League at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Homecoming Day.

Lashing out the BNP-leaders, he said that the BNP leaders do not see the current development spree of the country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina because during BNP’s tenure, they (BNP) destroyed the constitution of the country, its administration bodies and polling system.

“For their (BNP leaders) previous faults, they do not see that the country led by the premier Sheikh Hasina, is marching towards the massive development,” he added.

He urged all to work together to prevent all the conspiracies of the vested quarters in the country.

AL Presidium Member Abdur Rahman, during the discussion, said that the people of the country were waiting for the return of Bangabandhu to the soil of Bangladesh following the independence of the country.

“If Bangabandhu did not return home, the country’s independence, achieved in exchange of many sacrifices, would become valueless,” he added.

It is very sad that when Bangabandhu started to reconstruct the war-torn country after the independence, he along with his family members were assassinated heinously on August 15, 1975, he said.

He went on saying that the unfinished works of Bangabandhu is now being finished by his worthy successor and the incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

However, the conspiracy against Sheikh Hasina and her government has not been stopped, he said, adding that the anti-independence communal forces have come out against the sculpture of Bangabandhu by opposing it.

“Sculpture is not their main goal”, he said, adding that the main target is to overthrow Sheikh Hasina and stop the development of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim said the anti-independence forces brutally killed Bangabandhu while he was leading the country on the path of development through reconstruction.

“If we are united, the communal forces and anti-liberation forces will not be able to defeat us,” he added.

State Minister for Information Dr Md Murad Hassan said that at a time when the country is undergoing remarkable development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the defeated forces of independence have resurfaced to hamper this development.

Swechchhasebak League President Nirmal Ranjan Guha chaired the programme while organization’s General Secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu, Vice-president Abdul Alim Bepari and joint general secretary AKM Azim, among others, were present.
