Met office forecast light to moderate rain

DHAKA, Sept 25, 2017 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at some places over the country in next 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow, according to a met office release here today.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chittagong, Barisal and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 9 am today,” it added.

In association with rain or thundershowers, temporary south or south-easterly gusty or squally wind speeding 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Bogra, Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet wherein river ports shall hoist cautionary signal number one till 6 pm today, it continued.

Day temperature may fall by 1.00 to 2.00 degree Celsius and night
temperature may fall slightly over the country.

Maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 36.9 degree Celsius at Jessore in Khulna division and today’s minimum temperature 23.8 degree Celsius at Rangamati in Chittagong division.

Country’s highest rainfall in last twenty-four hours ending at 6 am today was recorded 59 millimeters (mm) at Kutubdia in Chittagong division.

The sun sets at 5:52 pm today and rises at 5:48 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
